Don’t be deterred by the location directly under the brown-line. Comfy window stools, and a four table out door patio are perfect for people watching. Stumptown premium cofffee, good tunes on quality speakers, and free cucumber water while waiting constitutes a great a.m. ambiance in my book. The gregarious, people pleaser bagel maker and super kind cashier definitely add to the experience. Not to mention an absolutely delicious Lox Bialy. I was allowed to order it with greens instead of cream cheese and substitue the bagel for a whole wheat bialy (189 calories, 2 g. fat, 2 g. fiber, 6 g. protein); healthy at no extra charge!
The menu is classic (pb & j/ham, egg & cheese) with a spattering of culinary diversity (edamame salad, hummus, avocado, deviled eggs). I can see myself becoming a regular. Everything is super fresh, no skimpping on the ingredients either. It’s always a plus when it’s necessary to use both hands to contain everything in one bite. Yum. Beware the weekends, word is: it gets crazy busy. It is also cash only. Apparently it’s expensive for small businesses to process credit cards. They do have an atm.
